As well as an informative, historical, and interesting day out the Imperial War Museums offer an online catalogue of research, images, and documents to the public.
Hidden amongst these gems is the Ministry of Information Second World War Colour Transparency Collection; a gallery of colour photographs (mostly) taken by officially commissioned war photographers. They offer a small, yet luminous peek into the lives of the men and women in service during the war.
